Drake can’t beat his luck: the Toronto Raptors are champions of the American basketball competition. To celebrate, the rapper, big fan of the club, releases two new songs. The 32-year-old Canadian placed a photo of the trophy won shortly after winning the title on Instagram, with two titles added: Omertá and Money in the Grave. Drake makes the last song in collaboration with Rick Ross.
“We played with our heart”
For Drake, the victory of the Raptors undoubtedly feels a bit like his victory. The rapper can often be found on the sidelines to encourage the team. He is a blood fanatic and sometimes even goes a bit too far: Drake was verbally bumped with opponents’ players during the final.
The extent to which the Hotline Bling rapper sympathizes with the team is demonstrated by the fact that he gave an interview after the game – something that is normally reserved for the players. “We played with our hearts,” said a euphoric Drake. “This victory is based on pure willpower. We did it. I told you.”
The Toronto Raptors won in the sixth game of the best-of-seven series of Golden State Warriors, which decided the final 4-2. It is the first time that a Canadian club has won an NBA title.
