Dolly Parton (77) was a producer of the successful TV series ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, which was broadcast from the late 1990s. This is what Sarah Michelle Prinze (45), who played Buffy, tells on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’.
“Then I thought, okay, I can die peacefully, Dolly Parton knows who I am”
“What hardly anyone knows is that the legend Dolly was a producer,” said the actress who became known as Sarah Michelle Gellar. “And you know, we never saw her. But sometimes we suddenly got Christmas presents with our name on them. And then I thought: she doesn’t even know who I am.”
But one day it turned out that Dolly Parton did know the leading lady. “Someone asked her about it and then she complimented the show and me. And then I thought, okay I can die peacefully, Dolly Parton knows who I am and thinks I’m good.”
Dolly Parton co-owned Sandollar Productions, the company that was indeed responsible for the seven seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer . In addition, the company also produced the film that came out in 1992 on which the later series was based.
