Disney requires all non-union workers in the United States to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The entertainment group gives its employees sixty days to do so, it was announced on Friday. Disney will also discuss with the unions whether a vaccination obligation can also apply to those employees.
Like the American supermarket chain Walmart, Disney is following Google’s example with the move. That tech company requires all staff in the US to be vaccinated before returning to the office.
Facebook also requires its employees to be vaccinated. Netflix would require that everyone involved in a production of the streaming service in the United States be vaccinated. It is expected that more American companies will make a similar requirement.
Incidentally, in the Netherlands it is not allowed to require your employees to be vaccinated. Article 11 of the constitution states that everyone has a say in what happens to his or her body.
