Disney is working on a live-action film about an African princess named Sadé. It is the first time that the studio makes a princess film with an African character in the leading role.
The film studio is currently developing the film, reports Deadline .
The story is about the young Sadé, whose kingdom is threatened by a mysterious, evil force. Then she discovers her own magical powers and tries to protect her people with the help of the prince.
The story was created by Ola Shokunbi and Lindsey Reed Palmer. Who is going to direct the film is not yet known.
In 2009 Disney came up with the animated film The Princess and the Frog , in which for the first time a black princess was shown.
