One person has been killed in a collision between two regional trains near the southern German city of Munich. This was announced by the German police. Emergency services have been deployed en masse. Dozens of people have also been injured.
Six months ago, there was almost a head-on collision between two S-trains nearby. They rode towards each other on the same track. The drivers were able to brake just in time. The trains came to a stop 150 meters apart.
The accident happened at Ebenhausen-Schäftlarn station, where two so-called S-trains were running against each other. S trains are similar to sprinters.
The cause has not yet been determined, German media report.
Now at least 30 others were injured in the collision between two commuter trains in the Upper Bavaria region near Munich, according to German police.
