David Beckham will produce a docuseries about the feud between the sports brands Adidas and Puma, Deadline writes on Thursday.
The three-part series, called World War Shoe , is about the years of quarrel between the brothers Adi and Rudi Dassler, who set up rival clothing brands in the same small German village. The two faced each other and were unable to resolve their argument even after forty years.
Philip Boatswain, of Stealing Charlie Chaplin fame , is directing the series. Beckham is involved through his production company Studio 99, which was founded in 2019. The former top football player already announced at the time that he wanted to make documentaries, television shows and other media formats with his company.
It was also announced earlier that Studio 99 will collaborate with Uninterrupted, the media company co-founded by basketball player LeBron James. Together they make a documentary about the new football club Inter Miami CF, of which Beckham is also co-owner.
