Reba McEntire, who previously served as Season 23’s mega mentor on “The Voice,” is making her official return as a coach for Season 24. The exciting news was announced during NBCU’s upfront presentation on Monday.
Joining the esteemed lineup of coaches, which includes John Legend and returning coaches Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani, the Country Music Hall of Fame inductee brings her wealth of experience and talent to the show.
Season 23 is currently airing, with the semi-final scheduled for Monday, May 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. In this two-hour event, the top 8 artists will perform live for the first time in front of the coaches, competing for a coveted spot in the finale. Viewers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artist in real time, and the results will be revealed at the end of the show.
As Season 23 approaches its finale on May 23, fans can look forward to a special appearance by Adam Levine and Maroon 5. The group will perform their new single, “Middle Ground,” marking their first release in two years. The accompanying music video for the song will also premiere.
Notably, Season 23 will be Blake Shelton’s final season as a coach. Having been part of “The Voice” since its inception, he is the only coach who has remained throughout the show’s entire run.
Reba McEntire’s illustrious career extends beyond music, encompassing television, film, and theater. She notably starred in the lead role on Broadway in “Annie Get Your Gun” and headlined the successful sitcom “Reba” for ten seasons. Her impressive accolades include 16 ACM Awards, 15 American Music Awards, nine People’s Choice Awards, six CMA Awards, three Grammy Awards, and being a recipient of the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors.
