Tonight the Cannes Film Festival will begin, the well-known Class A international film screening. And while only a few hours are left before the first Cannes premiere, celebrities and film industry representatives flock to the airport in nearby Nice, who will soon be walking along the carpet of the Palais des Festivals and Congresses.
The Cannes dress code is one of the toughest in the field of film screenings: a mandatory black tie, butterflies for men, heels for women and no selfie. All this – according to the regulations established by Thierry Fremo, director of film screening. The requirements for the appearance of passengers at Nice airport are seemingly not so strict, however, there are also rules here that are already unspoken. Prior to the premiere of the opening film – Jim Jarmusch’s ironic picture The Dead Do Not Die – may still remain for some time, but for many shows and the notorious path begin right on the plane’s ladder.

So, this year, many celebrity guests of the filmmaking supported the trend for pantsuits: voluminous, bright, and most comfortable during long flights. The actress El Fanning (member of the Cannes jury), model Isabel Goulard and actress Julianne Moore relied on this image. Selena Gomez, who plays in the opening film with Tilda Swinton, Adam Driver and Chloe Sevigny, chose her variation on this theme in a trendy milky hue. The latter remained faithful to her ruffian girlish style, choosing a short dress, blue jacket and large sneakers with white socks.

The men remained loyal to ordinary casuals – sweatshirts, shirts and T-shirts: Jim Jarmusch, Adam Driver and jury member Alejandro González Inarritu appeared at the airport in this form. Eva Longoria, who brought her son Santiago to Cannes, also arrived in sports style in Nice.

The 72nd Cannes Film Festival will begin today and end on May 24th. You will be able to find out about the main premieres of film screenings, as well as about who will receive the main prize of the festival – the Golden Palm branch, made by the jewelry and watch brand Chopard next week.
