Britney Spears has taken to social media to voice her displeasure regarding recent reports of an attempted intervention by her loved ones.
On Friday morning, the 41-year-old singer wrote on Instagram that she is “sick to my stomach” over the recent reports that “she almost died.” Various news outlets, including TMZ, People, Entertainment Tonight, and E! News, published articles alleging that Britney’s inner circle attempted an intervention on Tuesday due to concerns about her mental health and potential substance abuse issues. According to an anonymous source quoted by TMZ, “I’m afraid she’s gonna die.”
Alongside a picture with the caption “A state of gratitude will shift you to a higher frequency,” Britney wrote, “It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died… I mean at some point enough is enough!!!”.

She went on to say, “I might have to stop posting on Instagram because, although I enjoy doing it, there are clearly a lot of people who do not wish me well. I am not at all surprised by this… I am doing the best I can. To clarify, my conservatorship has ended for almost a year now. It’s not 2007, it’s 2023 and I am making my first homemade lasagna at home! I finally got my fireplace to work in my living room. As my husband wisely says, don’t believe everything you read. Sending all that love right back to you.”
Meanwhile, her husband, Sam Asghari, was at the premiere of Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard on Thursday night in Hollywood. The 28-year-old, who married Britney after the end of her conservatorship, walked the red carpet alone with a big smile on his face, appearing unaffected by any potential concerns for Britney’s well-being.
Reports of a failed intervention involving Britney Spears surfaced on Thursday, with all major entertainment outlets covering the story. TMZ was the first to break the news, claiming that due to the singer’s “erratic and volatile behavior,” her husband Sam Asghari, her manager, and medical professionals had planned to intervene. The plan was for Britney to receive medical treatment and psychological counseling for two months at a rented house. However, the intervention was called off after she became aware of the plan. Britney saw a doctor on Wednesday, but it is unclear what type of doctor and the outcome of the visit is unknown.
Despite the reports, Sam Asghari appeared to suggest everything was fine by posting a video of him and Britney shopping together at Target and wearing matching pink shirts. Meanwhile, other outlets reported that those close to Britney have grown increasingly concerned due to her erratic behavior and have described the situation as “absolutely chaotic.” One source stated that Britney has struggled with drugs, specifically Adderall, in the past.
However, it is important to note that these reports should be taken with a grain of salt and the situation should be evaluated based on reliable, verified information.
