Beyoncé will release an audiovisual album titled Black is King on Disney + next month . The singer shares a video teaser of the film on her website on Sunday .
Black is King is written, directed and produced by Beyoncé and will premiere worldwide on Disney + on July 31. That’s just after the one-year anniversary of the release of Disney’s The Lion King remake, for which Beyoncé voiced the voice of lioness Nala.
The film is based on the music of Beyoncé’s soundtrack album The Lion King: The Gift , which was released last year with the animation classic remake. In Black’s King will hear the musicians are also to The Lion King: The Gift participated. In addition, guest appearances from Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell and Beyoncé’s husband JAY-Z and daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

According to Disney , Black is King imagines ” The Lion King ‘s lessons for today’s young kings and queens seeking their own crowns.”
“The film is an informative, constructive and timeless story about the reunification of cultures and shared beliefs,” said Disney. “It’s a story about how the most broken people can have an extraordinary gift and a purposeful future.”
