A rare videotape of the first Star Wars movie is up for auction at Goldin Auctions. The auction site expects the tape to fetch around $60,000, converted almost EUR 53,000.
It is the first videotape of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) sold. This allowed fans to watch the science fiction film at home for the first time. The copy that will be auctioned is still in the original plastic casing.
Other videotapes of film classics such as Jurassic Park are also auctioned on the website. People can bid on the items until February 24th.
