At least 10 people were injured Thursday in an explosion at the Canadian Air Force base in Comox, on Vancouver Island, CTV reported . Four people were taken to the hospital, including a serious one, taken by helicopter.
According to preliminary data, the gas explosion occurred while repair work was being carried out on a non-residential building in the barracks, partially collapsing construction and shaking a nearby civilian airport. According to base personnel, no aircraft were damaged and flight operations were not suspended.
