Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to take the big oil companies to court. According to the actor and former governor of California, the companies are guilty of murder.
“The oil companies already knew in 1959 that the earth would heat up as a result of the use of fossil fuels”, the ‘governor’ explained to Politico during the SXSW festival.
According to Schwarzenegger, the companies also know that “it is a danger to human lives, that it is deadly”.
The actor and environmental activist draw a parallel with lawsuits against the tobacco industry. “In my opinion, it is absolutely irresponsible not to stick a warning label on your product if you know it is deadly.”
Schwarzenegger is therefore of the opinion that there should be warning labels on cars and petrol stations.
Menes
When Schwarzenegger goes to court, it is not yet clear. That the actor is serious, though. “I do not see a difference: if you step into a room and you know you’re going to bring someone, that’s murder, and in my opinion, it’s the same with the oil companies.”
