This weekend, David Beckham celebrates his 20th anniversary of his football career. And, of course, not without gifts. One of the most impressive was the present from the LA Galaxy team, for which David played from 2007 to 2012. Next to the Home Depot Center stadium, the football club has set up a huge bronze monument depicting Beckham running across the field.
The statue of Beckham – handiwork Israeli artist Omri Amraniwho made a name for himself by perpetuating in sculptures of American sports legends. Its authorship is 165 sports statues. Among them are bronze statues in the form of basketball players LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neill, the entire hockey team Los Angeles Kings and, of course, one of the most famous statues – Michael Jordan in flight.

Working on the bronze Beckham, Amrani admits that he was trying not to achieve portrait resemblance, but to convey the sporting spirit of a football legend. According to David himself, the sculptor succeeded.
At the opening ceremony of the monument, David arrived, accompanied by his wife Victoria. And he was in a wonderful mood. In his speech, he thanked the author of the monument, a football club, to whom he gave five years of life, and, of course, his fans.
When I first moved to Los Angeles, I was told that this is a city where dreams come true. Well, Los Angeles, today my dream came true. Thank you very much, –
said Beckham, addressing the fans.

By the way, David Beckham perpetuated not only in bronze, but also in wall painting. The image of Beckham, made by artist Mark Paul Derain on the wall of the Salvation Army Community Center, was presented the day before by LA Galaxy Beckham and the general public.
