The estate of Michael Jackson and IMAX have reached an agreement for the digital remastering of the short film Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D in order to convert it to IMAX 3D format.
The partnership was announced Wednesday when the late singer would have celebrated his 60th birthday.
The new version of the short film will be showing in IMAX cinemas across the United States for one week starting September 21st.
Succession officials said the king of pop would like to offer his fans entertainment at the cutting edge of technology.
Directed by John Landis, the short Thriller was premiered in Los Angeles in 1983. The world premiere of the 3D version took place at the Venice Film Festival in 2017.
Michael Jackson died in June 2009 at the age of 50.
