Playing Squid star Lee Jong Jae won an Academy Award for Best Leading Actor in a Drama Series.
The awards ceremony, the 74th in a row, is broadcast live on NBC.
Jason Bateman (“The Ozarks”), Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong (“Heirs”), Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul”) and Adam Scott (“Split”) also competed in this category.
Jason Sudeikis won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Ted Lasso. The Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries was previously awarded to Mike White for The White Lotus, and he also received an award for writing the series.
The Emmy Award for Television Achievement, established by the US Television Academy, is presented annually. The winners receive a gold statuette “Emmy”, made in the form of a winged woman with a symbolic atom in her hands, personifies the unity of science and art.
