Jennifer Lopez (52) and Ben Affleck (49) don’t let the media influence their relationship this time. According to Jennifer, the two, who were previously together from 2002 to 2004 and broke up because of the much attention from the press, are now “older and wiser”.
“We are much more aware of that”
When the singer and actor started dating again last spring, they feared a new media circus in advance. But they’ve learned not to share too much about their relationship, Lopez says. “We are now older and wiser and have more experience. We are in a different stage of life and now both have children, so we are much more aware of that,” she explains to People magazine.
The relationship feels different almost two decades later, too. “We appreciate it more and celebrate it more and that’s nice,” says Jennifer. “When you find someone you love very, very much and you get a second chance, it’s very rare, special and beautiful and we don’t take that for granted.”
The singer does not want to predict anything about what the future with Ben will look like. “I think everyone just wants to be happy and be with someone to grow old with. I think that’s a nice thought for now.”
Jennifer and Ben have been together again since April last year. Shortly before that, Jennifer’s relationship with Alex Rodriguez, to whom she was engaged. She has twins with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Ben had three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
