Yesterday, the UK hosted the annual Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, which this year, like many other events, took place online due to the coronavirus . The Dukes of Cambridge also took part in it.
Kate Middleton, 38, and Prince William presented the award to the UK’s National Health Service in recognition of their incredible and heroic work during the pandemic.
The couple recorded their speech a few days before the broadcast at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital – the oldest hospital in Great Britain.
In the video, Kate Middleton appeared in a business dress. She wore a pantsuit from Canadian brand Smythe and a blue rainbow blouse from London brand Lisou. Her Duchess did not choose by chance – the rainbow became a symbol of support for the UK NHS staff during the coronavirus pandemic.
The catastrophic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic has reminded us as a nation how much we owe to the thousands of NHS workers who have worked well beyond their line of business this year. They worked around the clock, with humility and compassion, in the most difficult circumstances, putting their own lives at stake to help others. Therefore, we are gathered here today in Britain’s oldest hospital to thank the NHS staff and honor them with the Pride of Britain Award. Talking to them, we were inspired by their stories of courage and dedication,
They said.
During the lockdown, Kate and William, along with their children and other Britons, took part in a rally for the UK National Health Service and applauded them for their work.
As it turned out, the coronavirus did not bypass their family: not only Prince Charles, but also Prince William suffered the disease .
