Nick Cannon apologized on Thursday for his anti-Semitic statements in his podcast Cannon’s Class . The footage for the June episode in question has been removed, and YouTube gives the reason that the video would incite hatred.
“First of all, I would like to extend my deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words that came out of my mouth during my interview with Richard Griffin,” Cannon said of his conversation with the rapper Professor. Griff confessed to Griffin. “They confirmed the worst stereotypes about a proud and wonderful people and I am ashamed of the uninformed and naive place these words come from.”
On Tuesday , Cannon’s employer ViacomCBS cut ties with the presenter. The media company believed that the presenter would have made insufficient excuses for his statements.
In the now-deleted podcast episode of June 30, the presenter made the statement, among other things, “black people are the real Hebrews” and discussed anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Cannon also said that due to their lack of pigment, white people are “a little less than those with darker skin” and that that white person’s feelings would cause anxiety.
First and foremost I extend my deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words that came out of my mouth during my interview with Richard Griffin.
