At least 14 people were injured Saturday afternoon at the entrance of a Backstreet Boys concert in Thackerville, Oklahoma, due to a severe thunderstorm.
While more than 150 people were waiting to enter the WinStar World Casino and Resort, where the show was to take place, strong winds brought down a metal poster on several of them, according to local media reports. According to witnesses, the helpers used a forklift to pull victims from underneath the poster.
Other people were reportedly injured when a tent under which they had taken refuge collapsed under the force of winds up to 80 miles per hour (128 km / h).
The Backstreet Boys canceled their concert because of the damage to the scene. The training asked his fans to keep their ticket for his next trip to Thackerville. The group 98 Degrees was also scheduled to play that night.
At least 12,000 people were expected to attend the sold-out concert.
According to casino spokespersons, his staff warned people waiting in line not to stay outside, but many ignored their warning.
